Okay, we know. Ever since ‘Casino Royale‘, Bond has defected to the Poker set. Never mind. Baccarat has always been considered the game of High Society, and the wagers are often astronomical. At our state certified legal online casino, you can start off modestly, and you don’t have to bow to a tuxedo dress code. Another difference between our version of online Baccarat and real life Baccarat is that there is only one player along with the banker, and you are allowed to bet on either. This serves to simplify the rather complicated betting rules. Payout is as follows:

  • If you bet on the player and he wins, the payout is 1:1.
  • If you bet on the banker and he wins, the payout is 19:20 (which equals 1:1 minus 5 % commission (so called ‘taxe’).
  • If you bet on a tie and the values of the player’s and bakers hands are identical, the payout is 9:1.

But what is the actual goal of Baccarat? Quite simply, it is the higher hand. The hand is, however, somewhat unusual. The face value of cards 2 - 9 corresponds to their pips; aces count as one; all tens, jacks, queens and kings count as 0.

After you have placed your bet at the online Baccarat table, the player and banker are each dealt two cards, and their respective values are tallied. If the total value of the hand is in the double digits, the decade (the first digit) is simply ignored. For example, a hand value of 12 simply becomes 2. In special cases, a third card is dealt to either the banker, the player or both.

Whoever is closer to the 9 wins. Should both hands have the same value, it is a tie. If you decided to place your bet on a tie, it was really worth it. If not, at least you get your original wager back.

RULES FOR THE THIRD CARD

If either the player or the banker has a hand worth 8 or nine, a third card is not drawn. If not, different rules apply to the player and to the banker when you play Baccarat online.

Player:

If the total value of the first two cards in the player’s hand is 0, 1, 2, 3, 4 or 5, the player is automatically dealt a third card. If his hand is worth 6 or 7, the player does not draw again.

Banker:

Once the player has finished drawing and the value of the first two cards in the banker’s hand is 0, 1, 2, 3, 4 or 5, the banker is automatically dealt a third card. If his hand is worth 6 or 7, the banker does not draw again either.
